According to IranGate News Agency, in one of the most tragic socio-political events of the year in the United States, Charlie Kirk, a prominent conservative activist and a trusted figure of U.S. President Donald Trump, was fatally shot during a student event in the state of Utah.
This incident, classified by the police as a targeted shooting, has sparked a wave of reactions among political and media figures in America.
Kirk, who was only 31 years old, was recognized as one of the most influential voices of the new generation of conservatives and had led the organization Turning Point USA for years to promote right-wing values in academic circles.
Deadly Shooting at Conservative Gathering: Charlie Kirk, Trump’s Trusted Ally, Killed
Charlie Kirk, a prominent figure in the conservative movement in the United States and a close ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, died at the age of 31 on Wednesday due to a shooting during a university meeting.
The attack, which occurred at an event affiliated with Turning Point USA, was described by the police as a targeted action.
In response to this news, Donald Trump praised Kirk on his social network Truth Social, writing, ‘The great Charlie Kirk, another legend, is no longer among us. No one understood the spirit and heart of America’s youth like he did.’
Turning Point USA, which Kirk founded at the age of 18, was established with the aim of promoting conservative values in predominantly liberal American universities.
The incident on Wednesday at Utah Valley University marked the beginning of a multi-university tour by this organization, during which participants were invited to discuss controversial topics with Kirk.
Charlie Kirk’s daily podcast, known by his name, and his highly-followed social media pages often hosted heated debates with students on topics such as gender identity, climate change, religion, and family values. The podcast began with a clip of Donald Trump praising Kirk as an extraordinary individual who managed to establish one of America’s most powerful youth organizations.
This non-profit organization, formed after Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012, focuses on three principles: financial accountability, free markets, and limited government, and is now active in more than 850 colleges and universities.
Turning Point played a pivotal role in mobilizing the youth vote for Donald Trump and other Republican candidates in the elections. Analysts believe Kirk had a significant impact on engaging the millennial generation and altering electoral dynamics in states like Arizona in favor of Trump.
The relationship between Kirk and Trump grew closer after the former president entered the White House. He attended Trump’s inauguration ceremony in January and was considered a regular guest at the White House during both presidential terms.
Earlier this year, he also made a symbolic trip to Greenland alongside Donald Trump Jr., following Trump’s remarks about wanting to acquire this polar territory.

Charlie Kirk, the son of an architect, grew up in a wealthy suburb of Chicago known as Prospect Heights. He was studying at a local college before dropping out to pursue political activities.
His attempt to enter the West Point Military Academy was unsuccessful, and he often jokingly referred to his lack of a college degree in university debates.
He was a passionate speaker and a familiar face at Republican Party events and had close ties to the Tea Party movement. His daily program on social media attracted millions of followers, and in 2020, he published the book ‘The MAGA Doctrine,’ a title referring to Trump’s campaign slogan ‘Make America Great Again.’
He also gave a speech this year at one of the prestigious Oxford Union meetings.
Kirk was married to a former Miss Arizona titleholder and had two children. His deep commitment to evangelical Christianity was a foundational pillar of his thoughts and political approaches. At the same time, many considered him a highly controversial and polarizing figure in the public arena.
Among the topics he frequently addressed in his speeches and podcasts was the issue of gun ownership.
In one of his recent controversial remarks, he said, ‘If a few people have to lose their lives each year to preserve the Second Amendment, I think that’s a price worth paying.’
He also took clear stances against transgender identity, COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, and the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election, continuing to claim fraud in that election.
However, after his death, some of his like-minded peers emphasized his spirit of dialogue and willingness to exchange views with critics. William Wolfe, Executive Director of the Baptist Leadership Center, wrote in a post on the social network X, ‘Charlie Kirk’s entire intellectual project was based on bridging gaps through dialogue, not violence.’
