Assault by Chabahar Police Commander on a 15-Year-Old Girl
A 15-year-old girl from a village in Chabahar was sexually assaulted by Colonel Ebrahim Kouchakzai, the Chabahar police commander, during an interrogation on September 1st. It is said that the interrogation was related to the suspicious death of the girl’s neighbor.
This incident was first reported three days ago by media activists. Now, the Hal Vash news agency reports that three days after the news broke, not only have the authorities failed to respond to public opinion and the victim’s family, but the pressure on Baloch activists demanding accountability on this issue has also increased.
The news agency writes:
The judicial and law enforcement authorities in Chabahar have not only failed to provide a proper response to public opinion but have also threatened Baloch activists who demand investigation and justice in this matter with phone calls, warning of fabricated charges and arrests.
The Hal Vash group has obtained information that Baloch representatives, trusted clerics, and influential figures in the region have been informed of the occurrence and truth of this crime. However, due to pressure from the police force on some of these individuals from the mentioned groups, they have remained silent until now.
According to most Baloch activists, the silence of the Baloch representatives, trusted clerics, and influential figures has allowed the police force more freedom to cover up this crime and threaten activists who are demanding an investigation and justice.
