At least 5 Kurdish porters killed in Kurdish regions of Iran

A website that publishes human rights news has reported that at least 5 Kurdish porters have been killed in the Kurdish regions of Iran in the past two weeks.

According to KolbarNews, at least 43 other porters have been injured during this period.

Direct shooting by Iranian and Iraqi border forces is one of the main causes of the deaths and injuries of the porters.

According to Kolbar News statistics, nearly 300 porters were killed or injured last year. According to this organization, this statistic has been on the rise in recent years.

The border areas of Iran in the northwest from West Azerbaijan to Ilam and in the southeast of Iran are among the least developed regions of Iran, and statistical data, including high unemployment rates, indicate that these areas are more deprived in all social, political, cultural, and economic indicators compared to central regions of Iran.
