Atatürk Dam and Another Disaster

Reports indicate that severe earthquakes have caused cracks in the wall of the Atatürk Dam in southeastern Turkey.

Although the areas surrounding the dam have been evacuated so far, experts warn, according to social media users, that the Atatürk Dam could break at any moment, and the resulting devastation could affect an area of 30 square kilometers.

The fate of the dams in Turkey and Syria is still uncertain, but considering the previous records of countries in managing damaged dams, it seems possible to maintain and preserve them to prevent another disaster. However, it must be said that a dam breaking is somewhat unpredictable, similar to an earthquake.
