Atomic Energy Organization Confirms Hacker Group's Breach into Its Emails

The Atomic Energy Organization confirms the hacking group’s infiltration into its emails

The General Directorate of Public Diplomacy and Information of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran yesterday, October 23, issued a statement regarding the infiltration of a hacking group into the email of one of its subsidiaries.

The content published on social media about the infiltration into the email server of the Atomic Energy Production and Development Company has been done with the aim of attracting public attention and creating media hype.

According to the report received from the IT unit of the parent company specializing in atomic energy production and development, unauthorized access originating from a specific foreign country to this company’s email system led to the publication of some email content on social media.

Following this, the IT unit of the Atomic Energy Production and Development Company, based on the anticipated arrangements and in the shortest possible time, took necessary and preventive measures and examined the issue from various dimensions, presenting its initial report to the officials of the Atomic Energy Organization. It is worth mentioning that the content in the users’ emails contains technical messages and routine daily exchanges. It is obvious that the purpose of such illegal attempts, which are done out of desperation, is to attract public attention, create media hype, and conduct psychological operations, and they lack any other value.
