Axios had informed the US before implementing Iran's Freedom Project

Axios had informed America about the Iran Freedom Project before its execution

The Axios website, citing informed sources, reported that the U.S. government had informed Iran of the Freedom Project operation in the Strait of Hormuz before it began and warned it not to interfere in the process.

According to the report, a senior Trump administration official conveyed this message to Tehran on Sunday, stating that the aim was to reduce the risk of escalating tensions.

However, Axios wrote that despite this warning, Iran carried out attacks against American ships, commercial vessels, and the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, American officials have tried to downplay these attacks and have emphasized that the ceasefire is still in effect.

Axios also reported that in its initial days, the Freedom Project operation has not significantly impacted the increase in ship traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

The report continues that some American and Israeli officials believe that if the diplomatic deadlock persists, the U.S. President might order the resumption of hostilities in the coming days.
