Ayatollah Seyyed Zia Mortezavi: National Internet or the Protection Plan is essentially the general confinement of a nation.
Ayatollah Seyyed Zia Mortezavi wrote in the Islamic Republic newspaper in a note titled National Internet as General Confinement.
The fundamental way to escape the current problems and the dangers ahead, as repeatedly pointed out by the wise and concerned citizens of the country—many of whom have been sidelined and disfavored by you and your policies and narrow-mindedness—is to reform the existing methods. These methods have resulted in the situation we have witnessed over the past three decades, and unfortunately, the words and positions of the officials clearly show that the door still turns on the same hinge. What is referred to as National Internet or the Protection Plan in the thoughts and words of these officials is essentially the general confinement of a nation. The initiators and supporters should know that you cannot confine a nation, especially one as great and freedom-loving as the noble people of Iran, even with the ill-fitting label of ‘national.’ As Mola Ali said in Nahj al-Balagha, ‘The hand of God is with the group,’ and he also said, ‘He who overcomes with evil is overcome.’ Peace be upon you.
