Azari Jahromi: Government Organizations Have Made Information Ubiquitous

Azari Jahromi: Government organizations have made information ubiquitous.

Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, the Minister of Communications in Hassan Rouhani’s administration, addressed the issue of information security on the sidelines of a Sharif Governance Think Tank meeting, stating that government organizations in the Islamic Republic have made information ubiquitous by centralizing and collecting all citizens’ data in relevant systems.

Azari Jahromi, referring to plans such as the Subsidy Targeting Organization, said, ‘We created an organization and collected all the people’s information to identify different social classes. In the name of centralizing information, we made it ubiquitous.’

He also pointed out the mechanisms of banks and the necessity of registering mobile phone numbers and sending text messages for banking transactions, stating that the vulnerability of a single point and the leakage of citizens’ information can easily include senior military officials as well, and revealing the location of a commander is not a complicated matter.
