A member of the Azerbaijani Parliament was targeted in an assassination attempt

Trend News Agency in Azerbaijan reports that Fazil Mustafa, a member of the country’s parliament, was targeted in an assassination attempt near his home and is currently receiving medical treatment.

According to Trend, this assassination attempt took place on the night of Tuesday, March 28, using a Kalashnikov weapon.

He was shot in the shoulder and the right thigh, but is not facing life-threatening danger.

The Azerbaijani Security Organization stated that the search operation to identify the attacker and other culprits is ongoing.

A Telegram channel reported on this attack, stating that Fazil Mustafa is considered a staunch opponent of the Shia religion in Azerbaijan, where the majority of the population are followers of this faith.
