Hungary buys gas from Russia
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, an ally of Putin, has intensified his policy of antagonizing the European Union by signing a new gas purchase agreement with Russia. The announcement of this contract comes precisely at a time when the Nord Stream 1 gas pipelines to Europe have been cut off, aiming to exert more political and psychological pressure on Europeans. Orban is one of the few political allies of Putin and a serious friend and supporter of American Republicans.
