Mohammad Mohajeri: Let’s tie the economy with China and Russia

Mohammad Mohajeri, a principlist political activist, wrote in a note in Shargh today: Let’s assume there is no such thing as the JCPOA at all, and the sanctions are here to stay and won’t go away. In such a situation, there is no choice but to find local and non-global ways. At the very least, we should tie our economy with the Eastern countries, China and Russia, and our neighbors, and for now, not engage with the World Bank system. We should advance the economy through a barter system, limit our oil buyers to China and one or two other countries, and write a development plan that relies more on the domestic front. If we are not going back to the JCPOA, it’s better to distance ourselves from it, not waste our time, and finalize the matter. This could be a new manifesto for our economy, politics, and perhaps our culture.
