End of rumors about the health of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran
This morning, Ayatollah Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, attended a mourning ceremony for student groups held at the Imam Khomeini Hosseiniyeh. His presence ended all the rumors that had emerged in recent days regarding his health and even speculations about his life.
In this meeting, contrary to the protocol of such ceremonies, the Supreme Leader gave a brief speech, which might have been due to the recent rumors.
In these brief remarks, he expressed regret that due to COVID-19 restrictions, it was not possible to host other applicants to attend the ceremony. He sent his regards to all of them from afar and wished them success.
In this ceremony, which was attended by several officials including the President, mourners participated with religious singing by Meysam Motiei, a favorite of the Supreme Leader, and a religious speech.
