Seyyedeh Sakineh Omrani: Achieving gender equality is not rationally possible
Seyyedeh Sakineh Omrani, a member of the Women’s Faction of the Ninth Parliament and former representative of the people of Semirom in the Islamic Consultative Assembly, stated in an interview with Rokna
Achieving gender equality is not rationally possible when women and men differ both in terms of spiritual creation and physical creation. How can we create equality for them? In the overarching policies of the Islamic Republic, attention has been paid to an issue more rational than gender equality, which is gender justice. However, it cannot be denied that we have somewhat underperformed in implementing these policies, and the gender justice emphasized by the higher laws of the Islamic Republic has not been realized in our country.
