A Serious Step by the U.S. to Resolve the Caucasus Crisis
Following Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Armenia and her serious stance regarding Azerbaijan’s aggression against that country, which included a clear condemnation of Azerbaijan and support for Armenia, the U.S. State Department took action to play a role in this crisis.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken brought his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts to the negotiating table and initiated efforts for dialogue between the two sides with the U.S. at the center. Naturally, Blinken’s tone and stance differed from Nancy Pelosi’s approach, and an attempt to balance the State Department’s positions between the two sides can be observed.
