Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf: People don’t cry with the crocodile tears of Saudi media

Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in today’s open session on Tuesday, September 20, in his pre-agenda speech regarding the Mahsa Amini incident, said

The passing of Ms. Mahsa Amini has left a wound in our hearts, and from the first hours of the representatives being informed of the incident, the supervisory bodies of the Assembly have diligently put the process of addressing this incident on their agenda. I once again emphasize that a thorough investigation and informing about all aspects of her case is essential. It is necessary for the Internal Affairs Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly to report their expert findings with maximum precision and thoroughness as quickly as possible for the information of the representatives and the honorable people of Iran.

Additionally, the mentioned commission is tasked not only with examining the specific case of the late Mahsa Amini but also with reviewing the processes and implementation methods in the moral security patrols of the General Command of the Police to prevent the recurrence of such incidents, in order to address the existing issues in their execution. Unfortunately, various cultural and social institutions are not properly fulfilling their affirmative duties regarding hijab. In such circumstances, confronting norm violations requires more precise planning with clear regulations and the use of trained forces by the General Command of the Police, to prevent personal biases and individual and systemic errors with full responsibility, and for these actions to be accepted by the dear and noble people of Iran.

It is important to remind that the enemy, as always, seeks to ride the wave of any incident and has put creating unrest and turmoil in the country on its agenda. Unfortunately, some inside, knowingly or unknowingly, move in the direction of the enemy’s desires. However, our dear people have shown their political acumen and understand the difference between compassion and opportunism and do not align with the hypocrites who once martyred several thousand ordinary people and now claim to champion the passing of one person, and they do not cry with the crocodile tears of the media affiliated with the child-killing Saudi government.

From the first day, the honorable president, the government, the Assembly, and the judiciary have been diligently pursuing the causes of this incident and identifying those responsible. Time will show that the people’s trust was correct and that all the country’s institutions will not overlook the smallest detail in addressing this issue.

God willing, the Assembly will also address this incident to clarify the matter and make the necessary structural and procedural reforms, and the people will not allow any kind of exploitation by enemies and their associates.
