Tehran’s Reaction to Ukraine’s Decision to Downgrade Diplomatic Relations
Following reports of the Ukrainian government’s decision to downgrade diplomatic relations with Tehran and revoke the credentials of the Iranian ambassador, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed regret over Kyiv’s decision, describing it as based on unverified reports and influenced by media manipulation from foreign parties.
Nasser Kanaani highlighted Iran’s clear policy of active neutrality in the Ukraine-Russia conflict and emphasized Tehran’s opposition to war and the necessity of resolving disputes politically without violence.
Kanaani stressed that Iran would take appropriate measures in response to the Ukrainian government’s decision and advised Kyiv to avoid being influenced by third parties seeking to damage the relations between the two countries.
