Vahid Ashtari, a media activist who revealed the story of the purchase of a baby layette by Qalibaf’s daughter from Turkey, announced on his Twitter by sharing an image of the court verdict that he has been sentenced to 18 months in prison over this matter. He wrote, ‘This is the complete verdict of the Sismuni Gate case which was reviewed again and resulted in an 18-month sentence in branch 1057. It is regrettable that up to this stage of the proceedings, I still do not understand exactly what my charges are and what I should defend against. I am publishing the full verdict so that judges, lawyers, and legal experts can read it and give their opinions.’
