The head of the Iranian Social Work Association says belittling protesters doubles their anger.
Seyed Hassan Mousavi Chalak, head of the Iranian Social Work Association, stated in an interview with Hamshahri.
Emotional behaviors usually do not last long. After some time with protesters on the streets, assessments have shown that emotionally driven individuals participate less in gatherings. Those who are on the streets and protesting should not be belittled, as it doubles their anger. These individuals should be guided towards rational and logical pursuit of their demands within dialogue-based frameworks, and within this framework, a specific program and timeline should be developed for pursuing and realizing their demands. If the authorities move in this direction, not only will the existing conflict be minimized, but the risk of a generational gap, which is now just beginning to emerge, will be addressed. If these conflicts and unanswered questions remain, individuals might pursue other methods to find answers to their questions.
