Due to Recent Events in Sistan and Baluchestan, Taftan Gold Mines Shut Down

Following recent events in Sistan and Baluchestan, the Taftan gold mines have been shut down.

In the wake of recent incidents in Zahedan, a group of protesters gathered at the Taftan gold mine, leading to the closure and cessation of extraction activities at this mine.

Mahmoud Reza Rahmatian, Deputy for Mines and Mining Industries Affairs of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Sistan and Baluchestan, referred to the closure of mining units in the Taftan area of Khash County, stating that following recent unrest, local opponents attacked all mining units in the Taftan area in two or three stages, causing the mines in this region, which were a source of livelihood, employment, and economy, to shut down.
