Contradictions Regarding the Founders of the Guidance Patrol

While in the past, officials of the Islamic Republic have announced the establishment of the Guidance Patrol based on a resolution by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution of Iran, last night Saeed Reza Ameli said in an interview with Iranian state television that we did not have any resolution titled ‘Guidance Patrol’ in the council.

Mr. Ameli stated that the resolutions of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution regarding the issue of hijab are qualitative and pertain to the understanding, education, and persuasion of public opinion among the youth.

Ismail Ahmadi-Moghaddam, the former commander of the law enforcement forces, had previously stated that the formation of the Guidance Patrol was based on a resolution by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, and Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili, the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance in Raisi’s government, also said in recent weeks that the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution has a resolution regarding the Guidance Patrol in the stage of being issued.
