The national football team star is ready to play
The Iranian forward of Bayer Leverkusen has completed his recovery process and is ready to play.
Sardar Azmoun, who suffered a muscle fiber tear in his calf about 4 weeks ago during Bayer Leverkusen’s training, apparently has now recovered and is on the verge of returning to the lineup of this German team. The German magazine Kicker reported that Sardar Azmoun could return to Leverkusen’s lineup from next week’s game, referring to the away match against FC Köln scheduled for Wednesday night.
The 27-year-old Azmoun, who has played in 13 matches for Bayer Leverkusen this season and registered two assists, recently completed his recovery process in Qatar under the supervision of the physiotherapist and doctor of the Iranian national football team and returned to his club in Germany on November 2nd.
Xabi Alonso’s students, who will face Union Berlin in a home match from the 13th week of the German Bundesliga tomorrow afternoon, Sunday, are currently 16th in the 18-team standings with 9 points.
Sardar Azmoun’s return to playing condition is good news for Carlos Queiroz and Iranian fans, as the national team is preparing for the 2022 Qatar World Cup and will face England in their first match in Group B of the tournament on November 21st, followed by matches against Wales and the USA.
