Rostam Ghasemi left, another commander is coming
Rostam Ghasemi left, another commander is coming. Finally, after much controversy, we must now say that the former Minister of Roads has resigned. The corruption case in the Ministry of Roads, which was initially considered a special case in Iran Gate, was addressed with the revelation of corruption and nepotism involving Ghasem Mokarem Shirazi, Rostam Ghasemi’s special assistant and inspector, as well as the nepotism and corruption involving the stepson and Fatemeh Molaei, the second wife of the Minister of Roads, aimed to shed light on the dire situation in this mega-ministry.
With the involvement of supervisory and security agencies, the issue took on more complex and serious dimensions. With the arrest of Ghasem Mokarem and the summoning of several other managers close to and appointed by Rostam Ghasemi, the case entered a new phase.
As Iran Gate had reported about ten days prior to Rostam Ghasemi’s imminent resignation, today Rostam finally surrendered and officially announced his resignation. According to information received from Iran Gate sources, Brigadier General Alireza Fakhari, the former coordinating deputy of the Khatam-al-Anbiya Construction Headquarters and the current head of the National Land and Housing Organization, is the most likely candidate to temporarily lead this ministry.
Based on information received by Iran Gate, Alireza Nikzad, the Vice President of the Parliament, went to the government last week and expressed readiness to take on the responsibility of the ministry and to be introduced as the minister. It is likely that before the end of Fakhari’s temporary leadership, the government will send Nikzad to the Parliament to overcome the short hurdle of gaining a vote of confidence and once again take the helm of this ministry.
Saeid Aganji’s tweet also refers to this matter and confirms the statements made by Iran Gate during this period.
