Salehe Ramin, daughter of Mohammad Ali Ramin: I am ashamed of any connection my family once had with the regime

Salehe Ramin, daughter of Mohammad Ali Ramin, is ashamed of any connection her family once had with the regime.

Salehe Ramin, the daughter of a former Iranian government official, wrote in an Instagram post: I, Salehe Ramin, am embarrassed and ashamed of any connection my family once had with this regime.

Mohammad Ali Ramin was the former Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the press deputy of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government. In 2012, he was sanctioned by the European Union for censorship of the press and having direct responsibility in the closure of several newspapers and the arrest of journalists.

Ms. Ramin is a fashion designer and is active in the fashion industry in Europe. Since the start of the protests in Iran, she has repeatedly written in support of the protesters on her Instagram page.

The lifestyle and images of Mr. Ramin’s children on social media have previously sparked reactions and criticisms.
