Asghar Salimi, Member of Parliament: Officials Have No Intention to Lift Platform Filters

Asghar Salimi, a member of parliament, says authorities have no intention to lift the ban on platforms.

Asghar Salimi, a member of the Economic Commission of the Parliament, told Iran’s Watchdog that apparently there is no intention from decision-making authorities to lift the ban. He said that if the ban is lifted, negotiations should quickly be held with these applications to establish representation in Iran.

More importantly, Salimi announced that the internet cannot be cut off suddenly with the expectation that everyone will flock to domestic platforms. Instead, a 6-month or one-year period should be considered for both virtual space activists and domestic companies to prepare the infrastructure.
