Journalists Removed and Fan Assistants Sent to the World Cup
While several photographers and journalists have been banned from leaving Iran, various security groups have been sent to the Qatar World Cup under the guise of journalists and with the quota of the Football Federation.
According to received reports, many journalists and photographers who were supposed to be sent from Iran to Qatar to cover the 2022 World Cup have been banned from leaving the country. Despite having visas and ID cards, they have been blacklisted by the Football Federation. The main reason for this action was the journalists’ support for the revolutionary uprising of the people and their backing of detained journalists.
On the other hand, other individuals with a security and intelligence nature have been sent to the World Cup as ‘fan assistants’ with free tickets from the Football Federation.
