Israel’s new plan to counter Iran’s drone program
While last week the issue of human rights violations and the suppression of Iranian protesters was at the center of media attention and at the top of the priority list for Western countries, and the United Nations Human Rights Council held an important meeting and finalized a resolution on this matter, the issue of Iran’s partnership in Russia’s aggression against Ukraine and Iranian drones has now come to the forefront again.
This recent development has been brought to light by Israeli journalists and media who, with access to details of negotiations and documents exchanged by Israeli government diplomats, have uncovered new insights about the special plan of this government to counter Iran’s drone program.
In the past two months, confidential files of Israeli intelligence on Iran’s drone program, prepared by Israeli security structures, have been presented to senior officials of various countries by this government’s embassies. The circulation of information about Iranian drones and their production lines has also continued in the period following the first round of message exchanges with allied countries.
It seems certain that it was Israel that revealed the shipment of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia following the depletion of that army’s missile stockpile, and this point has been independently confirmed by American officials after their review.
The Israeli embassy in Moscow has discussed these security documents and collected files from Iran with the Russians, and senior Russian officials are fully aware of Israel’s serious program against Iran and have not taken and will not take any action in response.
It is likely that if successful in creating convergence among Israel’s allies, it will soon host a major international conference on the dangers of Iran’s drone program.
