The Biden administration has finally responded to the public protests in China
While public protests in China have seriously begun and are spreading over several days, the U.S. government, as expected, did not show much reaction to this matter. However, it was noteworthy how the presence of a powerful Asian minority in the U.S. influences the political behavior of the Biden administration.
The U.S. National Security Council has finally issued a statement regarding the current situation in China and the public protests. In this statement, the U.S. government officially and cleverly emphasized freedom of expression and the right to protest for the public in the U.S. and all countries, including China, by referring to the so-called zero-COVID policy and the Chinese government’s unsuccessful efforts to bring the official COVID-19 statistics to zero.
