Javaid Rehman: So far, 21 people sentenced to death related to protests

So far, 21 people have been sentenced to death in connection with the protests, according to Javaid Rehman.

Javaid Rehman, the UN Special Rapporteur on human rights in Iran, has expressed concern over the Iranian government’s initiation of a campaign to issue death sentences for protesters in the country.

The United Nations states that since the protests began on September 17th in response to the death of Mahsa Amini during her detention by the morality police, over 300 people have been killed and 14,000 have been arrested in Iran.

The Iran Human Rights organization in Norway, in its latest report on November 28th, has reported the deaths of at least 448 citizens, including 60 children and 29 women.

He stated that so far, 21 people, including one woman, have been sentenced to death in connection with the protests in Iran on vague and broad charges.
