Ebrahim Raisi is giving a speech on December 7th at the University of Tehran.
The state news agency IRNA says Ebrahim Raisi will visit the University of Tehran in two days, on Wednesday, December 7th, to mark Student Day.
This comes as universities in Iran, including the University of Tehran, have witnessed widespread student protests over the past three months.
The government usually mobilizes participants aligned with itself for such ceremonial speeches during times of crisis and tries to prevent protesting students from entering the hall or the venue as much as possible.
Now, given the start of a three-day call by protesters on the occasion of Student Day, which is expected to peak on the last day, Wednesday, December 7th, the presence of the President of Iran at the University of Tehran, historically considered the epicenter of student protests in the country, might lead to the formation of a security atmosphere and suppression in the center of the capital and around the University of Tehran.
