Kayhan: Riyadh cannot negatively affect Iran-China relations
Shariatmadari: Some have said Riyadh can negatively impact Iran-China relations. The truth is, over the past years, Iran has been portrayed by Chinese officials as an irreplaceable country in West Asia.
On an international level, Iran is not compared with countries like Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
In Western discourse, when talking about Asian powers, Iran’s name is mentioned alongside China and Russia. Therefore, China’s relations with the Arab Gulf states, even if accompanied by significant economic figures, are one-sided and one-dimensional because the Arabs participating in the Riyadh meeting have nothing to offer except oil and, at least for now, cannot take on a role in international politics.
