Farshteh Tabaniyan, Lawyer of Protesters, Sentenced to Three Months in Prison

Farshteh Tabaniyan, the lawyer for the protesters, was sentenced to three months in prison.

Farzaneh Zilabi, an attorney, told the Emtedad Telegram channel that lawyer Farshteh Tabaniyan has been sentenced to three months in prison.

She said, ‘My client, Farshteh Tabaniyan, who is the lawyer for some of the security-related defendants in recent events, was sentenced by the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahshahr to three months of imprisonment on charges of propaganda activities against the regime. We will appeal this verdict and hope that the sentence will be overturned in the appeals court.’

According to this report, Farshteh Tabaniyan, a lawyer from the Judiciary’s Center for Attorneys, has taken on the defense of several defendants from the November 2019 protests, the Mahshahr marshland incident, and this year’s protests.
