According to ISNA News Agency, Ahmad Vahidi, the Minister of Interior, told this agency that the team that assassinated Moulavi Abdolvahed Rigi received their operation orders from outside the country. He did not specify who the commanders were or from which country.
Moulavi Abdolvahed Rigi was the Friday prayer leader of one of the Sunni mosques in Khash, who was kidnapped and murdered on December 8th this year.
After this murder, government officials stated that the terrorist team responsible for this assassination, which intended to leave the country, had been arrested.
Ahmad Vahidi said the goal of this assassination team was to create religious and ethnic division in the region and added that Moulavi Rigi was a patriotic, revolutionary, and enemy-fighting Moulavi, which is why he was targeted.
According to the Minister of Interior, this martyrdom demonstrated the deep bond between Sunnis and Shias and the deep connection between the people of Sistan and Baloch, and proved how significant the role of Baloch people is in guarding the borders.
