Citizen Journalism is Nearing Its End

Citizen journalism is nearing its end.

According to this week’s parliamentary agenda, a proposal is set to be discussed on the floor that seems likely to be listed among the controversial plans of the eleventh parliament: the plan to intensify the punishment for those collaborating with hostile countries’ actions against national security and interests.

This proposal is structured in seven articles, but it appears that one of its clauses is designed in response to social networks and the widespread sharing of videos on them.

The seventh and final article of this proposal targets a phenomenon that has been frequently observed these days: citizen journalism, which has become prevalent in recent years and, during the recent protests, has brought to light many instances of what was happening in the streets and society.
