Russia gave Ukraine an ultimatum
A day after Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed readiness to negotiate with all parties involved in the Ukraine war, the Russian Foreign Minister made sharp remarks accusing Kyiv and Western countries of trying to destroy Russia and threatened that Ukraine must surrender to Moscow’s conditions, or else the Russian army will address the issue.
Ukraine and its Western allies have so far refused to sit at the negotiation table with Russia, while the Russian army continues to bomb Ukrainian cities and critical infrastructure.
Moscow also insists on its intention and demands that Kyiv recognize Russia’s capture of one-fifth of Ukraine’s territory, a demand that Kyiv rejects. Ukrainian officials have stated that the country will continue fighting Russia until Moscow is willing to retreat.
According to the Russian news agency TASS, Sergey Lavrov stated on Monday night that the enemy is well aware of our proposals for disarming and denazifying the areas under the control of the Ukrainian regime and the threats arising from these areas against Russia’s security, including our new territories.
