The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company reported a 16% increase in gasoline consumption compared to the same period last year.
Mr. Nejad Ali mentioned that since the beginning of December this year, an average of 111 million liters of gasoline has been consumed daily, which is unprecedented in the cold season.
He added that this is the only year in which, contrary to previous years, consumption has not decreased in winter.
According to Mr. Nejad Ali, gasoline consumption usually increases on some busy days in summer, but statistics show that this winter season has seen unprecedented gasoline consumption.
The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company also called for fuel consumption management.
This year, in some cities of Iran, the air has been very polluted, leading to the closure of several schools and restrictions on traffic in some instances.
