Saeed Akbari, a sports presenter for one of the morning programs of IRIB, revealed in a story that he has not succumbed to the pressures to read scripted texts against people and athletes supporting the protests.
He wrote about his absence from IRIB, saying, ‘I decided not to give in to coercion and not to speak against the country’s athletes. I decided not to repeat the writings full of malice and hatred of cowardly people who don’t even dare to speak against anyone on their own pages but want presenters to echo their words. I hope one day Iranian television will be free of these people.’
