Ruhollah Sohrabi Threatens Boycotters of Fajr Film Festival

Ruhollah Sohrabi threatened those boycotting the Fajr Film Festival

On Sunday, February 5, 2023, Ruhollah Sohrabi, the General Director of Supervision over Distribution and Screening at the Cinema Organization, published a note threatening those boycotting the Fajr Festival.

Sohrabi, mentioning that a boycott is a form of soft resistance, called the boycotters fighters and wrote that as long as the Islamic Republic stands, its cinema lights are on, and the Fajr Film Festival is held within its cultural and artistic sphere, these individuals should neither make films nor act in them, nor participate in any festivals.

This cinema director further wrote in his threatening note that they are observing the behavior of those who have beaten the drum of this fight.

This cinema director’s note is published while a number of directors, actors, and film crew members have refused to attend the festival and have boycotted it.
