Ukraine's Defense Minister Removed Due to Corruption

The Ukrainian Defense Minister has been dismissed due to corruption.

According to sources close to the Ukrainian President, the Defense Minister of the country is likely to be dismissed, and the head of the military intelligence service of Ukraine will take his place.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has recently been criticized for financial corruption. The German television channel, Kanal 1, reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky is likely to dismiss the current Defense Minister, Oleksiy Resnikov.

This news agency, citing David Arakhamia, a representative of the Ukrainian Parliament and someone close to Zelensky, wrote that Kyrylo Bodanov will replace the current Defense Minister, Resnikov, and Resnikov will become the Minister of Strategic Industries. It is still unclear when this change will take place.

Arakhamia, who chairs the faction of the Zelensky’s Servant of the People party in the Ukrainian Parliament, said that the war necessitates a change in personnel policy. He added that during the war, ministries related to security should be led by individuals from security institutions.
