Masoud Mohammadian, the director of veterinary medicine in Tehran province, commented on the rumors regarding the quality of imported meats. He stated that the imported meat shipments are examined and tested in laboratories for their documentation and credentials before being cleared and entering the country. According to our protocols, samples are taken from each shipment. The imported hot red meats are brought into the country from Russia and Pakistan, and if the shipments do not comply with veterinary health regulations, they are not allowed to be cleared.
