Pistachio exports decreased by 61 percent
The dollar value of Iran’s pistachio exports in the first 10 months of the current year was reported to be 327.6 million dollars, which, according to the report of the Islamic Republic’s customs, is about 61 percent less compared to the same period in 2021.
The volume of pistachio exports from Iran during this time was reported to be 46,346 tons, with export destinations being 52 countries. In 2021, the value of 119,000 tons of exported pistachios was announced to be 797 million dollars.
This year, the number of countries purchasing Iranian pistachios has also decreased by 20. Last year, Iran exported pistachios to 72 countries, whereas in 2022, 52 countries purchased pistachios from Iran. Iran’s income from pistachio exports has decreased even though the Islamic Republic’s customs reported an increase of about 32 cents in the average price of pistachios in the first 10 months of this year.
