The first photo of Dr. Farhad Meisami after his release
Mr. Meisami, a civil activist who has been in prison since 1397 (2018) without a single day off to protest against compulsory hijab, was released two days ago.
About a week ago, the publication of images of Mr. Meisami in prison, showing a severe weight loss, caused a wave of anger and concern. Many of these civil activists wanted him to end his hunger strike.
Since 1397 (2018), after the rise of protests against compulsory hijab during the Girls of Revolution Street movement, he has been imprisoned and sentenced to five years in prison. Farhad Meisami, with the books he had access to in prison, wrote a slogan saying, ‘Your powerless power against tyranny is the narrow path to freedom,’ which he also displayed in the photo after his release.
