Inflation breaks record again

The annual point-to-point inflation rate in February, according to the Statistical Center, increased to 534 percent, approaching the inflation peak of July.

New statistics from the Statistical Center show that households in the country, on average, spent 534 percent more in February 2021 compared to February 2020 for purchasing the same set of goods and services.

The point-to-point inflation rate for February 2021 increased by 21 percentage points compared to the previous month. The point-to-point inflation rate for the group of food, beverages, and tobacco increased by 13 percentage points, reaching 705 percent, and the group of non-food goods and services increased by 23 percentage points, reaching 435 percent.
