Plan for Asset Generation and Sale of Bagh-e Ferdows

The plan for asset generation and sale of Bagh Ferdows

The HamMihan newspaper, in an article titled ‘An Unforgivable Mistake,’ has mentioned the possibility of Bagh Ferdows being included in the list of assets subject to the government’s asset generation decree.

Bagh Ferdows, located in District 1 of Tehran, is home to the Cinema Museum.

According to HamMihan, the ownership of Bagh Ferdows, like the Artists’ House, is shared between the Tehran Municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. Based on an agreement made during Gholamhossein Karbaschi’s tenure at the Tehran Municipality, these buildings were handed over by the municipality to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. As such, these buildings belong to the beneficiary, namely the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, as long as they are used for cultural purposes.

In recent days, members of the Iranian School-Building Philanthropists Association also announced that a number of schools, which were built with public money and investment, have been included in the list of state assets for sale.
