A Russian man has been sentenced to prison for his daughter’s anti-war painting

A Russian father has been convicted and sentenced to two years in prison for discrediting the Russian army, as his daughter drew an anti-war painting and he himself was critical of Russia’s actions against Ukraine

However, 53-year-old Alexey Moskalev did not appear in court at the time of the verdict in the Yefremov city court near Ukraine, and according to the court’s claim, he has escaped from house arrest. His lawyer also says that he has no information about his client’s possible whereabouts

The problems for this family started in April of last year when Masha drew a painting with the Ukrainian flag at school and wrote ‘Glory to Ukraine’ on it, alongside a missile and the Russian flag with the phrase ‘No to war’. The school officials reported this painting to the police
