Israel launches its most advanced spy satellite
On Thursday, Israel launched a new version of its spy satellite, called Horizon IV, and announced its intention to increase regional surveillance around the clock as the country prepares for a potential confrontation with Iran.
Horizon 13 is the latest and most advanced model of the Horizon spy satellites, which have been produced in Israel since 1988.
The Israeli Air Force has built this satellite, which will provide 24/7 monitoring of the Middle East region.
The Israeli Air Force stated in a statement that Horizon 13 is the most advanced of its kind, capable of radar surveillance and data collection in any weather conditions and visibility.
The satellite was launched into orbit using a Shavit 2 rocket, heading west towards the Mediterranean.
