The Hague court’s ruling on Iran’s assets will be issued today.
The International Court of Justice will issue its ruling on Thursday regarding Iran’s complaint against the United States for the release of approximately two billion dollars of its frozen assets.
This international body is the United Nations court and addresses the complaints of member countries against each other.
In 2016, the United States Supreme Court ruled that about two billion dollars of Iran’s frozen assets in the country should be paid to the survivors of several terrorist attacks.
This ruling led Iran to file a complaint against the United States in the International Court of Justice, known as the Hague court.
The rulings of the Hague court are binding; however, this court does not have enforcement power to compel compliance with its rulings.
