Possible Dismissal of the Minister of Education
Some members of parliament and state news agencies have reported the potential dismissal of Yousef Nouri, the Minister of Education. These reports cite the failure to pay the salaries and arrears of teachers in March as the reason for this possible removal. However, a member of parliament revealed that the Minister of Education was in Iraq for a pilgrimage to Karbala during March, at the height of the salary payment crisis and amidst attacks on girls’ schools.
News related to the potential dismissal of Yousef Nouri from the position of Minister of Education gained momentum especially after Mohammad Mokhber, on March 29th, in a letter to Ebrahim Raisi, stated that the shortcomings and actions of the Ministry of Education were the main reasons for the March salary payment issues for teachers.
