Persepolis FC’s reaction to Taj’s remarks: We have resolved the debt issue and we will not be disqualified.
Persepolis FC has rejected the news regarding a $200,000 debt to a player, which critics claim could lead to the club’s disqualification from Asian competitions. The club issued statements stating that this case has been closed.
Mehdi Taj, the head of the Iranian Football Federation, had stated yesterday that Esteghlal has definitely been disqualified from this season’s AFC Champions League and Persepolis may also be sidelined from the competitions due to a $200,000 debt to a player.
However, Persepolis claimed in their statements that this news is related to the case of Bozidar Radosevic, a former goalkeeper of the team, and the club has reached an agreement with this Croatian player.
Persepolis, through their statements, clarified that Mr. Taj’s comments were regarding Radosevic’s claims and not a new case. The club has reached an agreement with Radosevic, who had significant financial commitments, and official documents of the agreement and payment deadlines have been uploaded to the CALS system. This action will also be carried out in future payments.
