Hamid Sajjadi, the Minister of Sports and Youth under Raisi, has issued an order regarding the presence of women in stadiums

Hamid Sajjadi, the Minister of Sports and Youth of Raisi’s administration, has issued orders regarding the presence of women in stadiums.

Mr. Sajjadi, in a meeting coordinating the presence of women and families in stadiums, announced the directive from the head of the Iranian government and stated that from the time of ticket sales, the provision of public transportation for the movement of women, parking, guiding them to their designated areas, cleaning of restrooms, preparation of prayer rooms, buffets, and security forces must be reviewed.

FIFA has repeatedly warned Iran that women should be present in stadiums without restrictions, but Iranian officials have evaded this issue under various pretexts, including the lack of infrastructure. In several instances where some women managed to enter Azadi Stadium, it was reported that these individuals were selectively chosen and the opportunity to purchase tickets was not available to everyone.
