Foreign trips from Iran decreased by 10 percent
According to the announcement by the Airports and Air Navigation Company in Iran, the number of international trips in March of last year 1401 (2023) compared to March of the year 1400 (2022) has decreased.
This company stated that international flights in terms of takeoffs and landings decreased by 1 percent, passenger departures and arrivals by 10 percent, and cargo and mail dispatch and reception by 14 percent.
The end days of March coincide with the Nowruz holidays, which some citizens choose for domestic and international travel.
These statistics have been published while Iran’s economy has experienced turbulent days in recent months. The exchange rate of the dollar in March in the open market reached over 60,000 tomans, which likely had a direct impact on the decrease in foreign travel.
On the other hand, the worsening living conditions and increasing inflation have also led to a reduction in leisure travel.
